What to Expect During an Oral Cancer Screening

Visual Examination

Dr. Raborn will carefully examine the inside of your mouth to check for red or white patches, sores, and any other signs of abnormality. This examination will include all areas of your mouth, including the tongue, throat, gums, and cheeks.

Physical Examination

The screening also involves feeling the tissues in your mouth to detect lumps or other abnormalities. Dr. Raborn may also examine your neck and jaw for unusual lumps.
