What is Endodontics?

Endodontics involves various treatments to address issues within the tooth's dental pulp, which can become inflamed or infected due to deep decay, repeated dental procedures, cracks, or injury. The most common endodontic treatment is a root canal, which involves removing the infected or inflamed pulp, cleaning and disinfecting the inside of the tooth, and then filling and sealing it.

Root Canal Therapy  

Root canal therapy is a procedure that relieves dental pain and saves your teeth by removing the pulp tissue from inside the tooth, disinfecting the cavity, and filling it with a biocompatible material. Learn more about root canal therapy.

Endodontic Retreatment  

For teeth that have not healed properly after an initial root canal due to complex canal anatomy or other factors, endodontic retreatment may be necessary to save the tooth.

Endodontic Surgery  

In some cases, surgery may be required to locate fractures or hidden canals that do not appear on x-rays but still manifest pain in the tooth. The most common procedure is an apicoectomy, or root-end resection.
